for boys and girls in K-8th grade
Bridging the opportunity gap between recreational and club soccer programs.
Nexus Youth Soccer League is a competitive recreational soccer program designed for athletes who love the sport and want to continue evolving their skills but aren’t ready or willing to commit to the time or financial requirements that come along with joining a club soccer program. Players practice just once a week and there is one game on a Saturday at a single convenient centrally-located field with a two-day tournament at the end of the 9-week season.
NYSL is designed for players involved in multiple activities, those who go to a school without a soccer program, former club players, kids recently interested in soccer, and players who have aged-out of other recreational programs.
What does next-level mean?
We provide an experience beyond traditional recreational soccer programs in several ways:
- Our Game Play: Real soccer rules, real refs, real calls. Yes, we call offsides. And yes, ties end in penalty kicks.
- Set Pieces: Corners, free kicks, kick-off strategies—you’ll learn them all.
- Coaches: No parent volunteers here. Our coaches are former players from ABFT (Advanced Ball & Fitness Training), a professional training academy focused on developing complete athletes through technical skill development, tactical understanding, and mental strength. ABFT coaches bring experience from collegiate, semi-professional, and professional levels, and all are background-checked to ensure a safe and positive environment.
- Positions: Players will rotate through and learn to play all positions on the field (except goalie unless interested)
- Playing Time: Playing time is not guaranteed and is earned through effort, attitude, attendance, and performance in both practices and games. Coaches will strive to provide opportunities for all players while also rewarding commitment, improvement, and teamwork.
- Commitment: Less time than club, more than your average drop-in league. We have four separate seasons a year, and full participation is expected for starting spots and max minutes.

Our organization has invested in a robust app for parents to have quick access to their players schedules (games and practices) and a way to quickly communicate with your coaches, share game photos, or participate in group parent discussions. Coaches can set their practice details, set game lineups in advance, and quickly communicate any last-minute changes. This app is NO COST to parents unless you choose to upgrade to the ad-free experience at $1.99/month which is completely optional and not required.
