Coaches

Three ways to get involved as a coach.

Whether you are a parent volunteer with playing or coaching experience, a young adult athlete exploring coaching, or are seeking a career in soccer coaching, we provide you with the equipment and resources you need. All we ask is that you are respectful, understanding, and demonstrate high-class sportsmanship at all times.

League app for coaches & parents

All of your coaching needs in one place.

PARENT Coaches

FREE Player Registration!

If you are a parent who is interested in coaching your child’s team and you have previous soccer coaching and/or playing experience, simply indicate so when you register (you’ll see a place for it). You will be refunded the registration fee when you are placed with a team. We require that all parent volunteers take a coaches training course online (we will provide the resource), participate in a background check, and maintain a positive team environment that focuses on player development, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

NON-PARENT Coaches

$250 Stipend!

A perfect opportunity for young athletes (age 18 or older) or anyone looking to see if a professional coaching track is right for them or are just passionate about youth sports and want to be involved in a leadership role. Non-parent coaches receive a $250 stipend for their time (paid at the end of the regular season and pending 100% game and practice attendance). If you’re interested in becoming a coach but you don’t have a child or relative playing in the league, this is for you!

Professional Coach Training Track

$500 NYSL Scholarship!

We are here to support coaches as much as our players by providing those who are looking for a career in coaching an opportunity to have access to a team as a requirement of the U.S. Soccer D License. In addition, we developed the NYSL Coaching License Scholarship as an added benefit for our coaches to also have their D License fee paid for by NYSL as long as they have met the below requirements:

NYSL Coaching License scholarship requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must have coached a minimum of two (2) full seasons with NYSL.
  • Currently coaching a NYSL team.
  • Must have completed the U.S. Soccer Introduction Course & Grassroots Course.
  • Scholarships can be submitted anytime after the completion of the second (2) season.
  • Scholarships will be approved or denied within two weeks of submission.

If approved, the scholarship will be used to refund your already paid-for registration up to $500 for the U.S. Soccer D License. To receive the scholarship funds, proof of paid U.S. Soccer D License registration must be provided. Scholarships will be automatically rejected if the above criteria are not met.
